Ok... I just wanted to take a second and share something weird that's going on. Yesterday I got an email (1st Image) from the Need For Speed guys, stating that I was some kind of a WINNER in a competition where SI©: Swimsuit™ Model Chrissy Teigen did a race in the game Need For Speed©: The Run™ in Desert Hills, and then you had to beat her time of 2.41.24, and post a pic to TWITTER©. As you can see... I did, but only by a little (2nd Image). I will keep updated on what I actually won, because I don't know yet if I was the GRAND PRIZE winner... or just a WINNER, but it doesn't matter, because I have never won ANYTHING like this!!!

UPDATE #1 12/20/2011: Apparently I was chosen as the GRAND PRIZE winner, and I am in contact with EA©/SI©... I will keep you all updated on what this means.

UPDATE #2 01/11/2012: Yeah... I WON THE GRAND PRIZE!!! I will be going to the Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Edition 2012 Launch Party in Las Vegas, Nevada February 15th & 16th and staying at the Cosmopolitan Hotel!!! This is going to be SWEET!!!

Brina Murphy was featured on the FACEBOOK group SO TATTOOED, and I figured I would do some of my cool 3D manipulation to her pics, and send them to her to see if I could get in contact with her. She loved them. So, she is a HOTT TATTOOED CHICK, she lives in SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, which is where B and I are trying to go, and she seems like a really down to Earth, cool girl... kind of like a win, Win, WIN!!!

So... weekly up-date time again! I have been very busy working on stuff and learning some new techniques thanks to ABDUZEEDO.com. The first design is a hybrid of two ZAGGskins™ that I did called TECHNO OOZE & EVOCATIVE, the second design is called HEX ON THE GRID, the next design is 3D STEPS, and the last design is called CARGO SHIP.

Also, as an update to the TOP SECRET project I have been working on, it appears that the deal will not be going through due to a disagreement on what else... MONEY. Unfortunately I am unable to disclose any information on the project due to the N.D.A. I signed (STUPID ME), but they will still make nice portfolio pieces... sorry people...

Ok. Lots to tell all of you FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS out there! First, The top image is new ZAGG® Premiere™ ZAGGskins™I have on the web. The first design is COLOR-TIME!!!, the second is BARS OF COLOR, the third is ERODED HALFTONE, and the final design is COLORFUL ZEBRA. The second image is a group of ZAGGskins™ we put together for a company call NU SKIN® here in Utah. I did the first design, and the last. Brandi Hock, my wife, did the 2nd, 4th, and 6th ZAGGskin™. Brian Schulz Johnson did the 3rd, 5th, and 7th ZAGGskin™. They loved them, and are buying QUITE A FEW of them!

Now for the bigger stuff. The SECRET-PROJECT that I have been wanting to unveil to the world is now even closer. I still CANNOT say who the client is, but they decided they want to go with us as the provider, and now we just have to iron out some MONETARY kinks, but this will be some big stuff, not only for my BLOG, but also for my RESUME and PORTFOLIO. I have not heard anything back on the SECRET-PROJECT I have been working on, and we think that has A LOT to do with the CLIENT deciding they do not want to go this route anymore. It's ok though. While I may not be able to post it here, they ARE portfolio pieces, so it's ok! Now to the new designs I have at ZAGG.com in the ZAGG® Premiere™ section. This was a picture I took of the SPACE NEEDLE™ when I was in SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, and I used a Photoshop technique called NASHVILLE to give it this effect. I miss WASHINGTON so much... The new logo is in BLACK & WHITE, the ? is formed out of the NEGATIVE space, and the RED PERIOD is to call out that it is a PERIOD, like how MR has a . at the end. SO... you put the QUESTION MARK in for VISUAL APPEAL, my middle name INITIAL, and you have Mr. E, or rather, Mr?E, which is a play on the word... MYSTERY... Clever... I KNOW.

This is just a weekly up-date about what has been happening at work. Tuesday we announced to the WORLD that ZAGG® had purchased iFrogz™, a mobile device case-maker for the more popular devices and our stock hit an all time HIGH. What else... Oh, my Apple iMac HDD was dying, so I was out of commission for 2 and a half days, and today I created these new ZAGGskins™ that are up on the website right now. These ZAGGskins™ represent the COLLEGES that ZAGG® currently has a deal with through the CLC©, and I have been working with these schools to get all the product up on the WEBSITE, and I have been working with them since I started June 14th, 2010, so I figured, what a good way to up-date all of you on my 1-year anniversary!!! A lot has happened in the past year here at ZAGG®, including: I am now the Senior ZAGGskins™ Graphic Designer, our STOCK closed today at $12.55, compared to a year ago, which was $2.18, AND I have worked with some MAJOR clients, one being THQ®, and another being a company I cannot talk about... YET!!! All in all, it has been a GREAT year, and the experience I am getting is AWESOME, finding a GRAPHIC DESIGN job RIGHT out of school was a MAJOR BLESSING, and the things I have gained for my RESUME are AMAZING!!! Thanks to ALL of you that follow my BLOG, and keep coming back, because I will be able to up-date you soon on my SECRET client, and I will (hopefully) up-date this BLOG for a long time to come!!!

Unfortunately, as it stands right now, I am unable to disclose ANY information about what is going on, but I can tell you, that the decision for what is going on is going to be made before the end of the month, and at that point, I will be able to fill you all in. American Red Cross/Japan ZAGGskins™ Concepts

ZAGG® is looking into partnering with the American Red Cross, and these are the concepts that will be submitted to them. The design on the left are all associated with the American Red Cross, but some countries have weird feelings about using a CROSS, so they use the other symbols instead. The design on the right has a silhouette of Japan on it, but when we roll out the partnership with the American Red Cross, we will be donating money directly to them, and they will decide how to use it, I just chose Japan because it is the most recent disaster that the American Red Cross is aiding with. I will update you when all of the details have been worked out, and I will also give you links on how to get the American Red Cross Zaggskins™ when they become available.

Hey out there to all the faithful followers of my BLOG, I just thought it was time to give you all an update on what has been going on. The images that I posted about my interview with ZAGG®, Inc. and all the hard work I put in paid off, and I was hired as a Graphic Designer on the ZAGGskins® Team. You can see a lot of my work on the ZAGGskins® website, and some of the projects I have been working on are found in the Colleges, Around the World, Stripes, & Misc. categories. I came up with these with a new idea that I presented to ZAGG®, appealing to a new, different kind of audience then they currently are. In 2005 I was at a major video game conference in Los Angeles, California called E3®, and at this show, there were booths that ranged everywhere from new and up-coming games, to new pieces of technology that were coming out soon. Thinking about this show, and looking extensively at the ZAGG® website, I found that there aren't really a lot of things that would appeal to the GAMERS, MOVIE GOERS, or EXTREME SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS around the world. These are just a limited few of my ideas, but tell me what you THINK!!!

These are ZAGGskins™, and they were assigned to me as another version of a test that was given to me by the company ZAGG®. The three different themes are; 1) Football skins, geared toward the NFL as if I was trying to get the skins licensed, 2) Christian skins geared more toward the Young Life enthusiast crowd, and 3) Golf skins, aimed at golf enthusiastic business professionals. ***UPDATE*** They did not give me the job because they did not want to re-locate me. It was a sad thing at the time, but it paid off for me and my wife in the end. We are BOTH now working in the GRAPHIC DESIGN Industry, improving our portfolios, beefing up our resumes, and learning what SCHOOL can't teach you about this industry.

These logos are for a "SISTER COMPANY" of The Botanical Gardens Re-Branding project I am in charge of. The Botanical Gardens is changing thier name to "The Gardens" and wanted this logo to look similar to the new logo I am making for The Gardens. The Gardens new logo will be posted soon!

The first two versions of a logo for the Parks & Rec. dept. for Parachute, Colorado. The featured house is actually the W.P.A. house they are trying to save. The first version features mountains that are based off of the mountains that are part of the town seal of Parachute, Colorado. The 2nd version features mountains that are around the actual town.

These were two poster concepts I came up with to try and get people in to DONATE BLOOD at the AMERICAN RED CROSS. I like them both A LOT, but I think the bottom concept is stronger. In our in-class critique, my work was chosen as the best, AND the bottom poster connected with a mother on a level that actually brought her to tears... I would say that is pretty-good GRAPHIC DESIGN!!!
